Sleep

Copy-paste appropriate from Wikitravel?

Hello. I’m Vidimian from Wikitravel. I’ve written about hitching opportunities (good spots where to hitch, how to get there by public transportation) on some Turkish cities at Wikitravel. I guess it would be nice if they are incorporated here as well, if there are no copyright issues to deal with. If there is, please let me know if I can do anything about it (such as granting a permission, rewording, copy-pasting directly by myself, etc). I would gladly write them here myself, but I’m afraid I don’t have enough time for that now.

Here is a list of the spots I’ve chattered about in Wikitravel. All of them (except Istanbul-east) were tried and proved to be succesfull either by myself or my friends.

I have of course hitched in elsewhere, too, but most of them were only small towns and I felt it is kinda silly to note down that ‘there is a good hitching spot at the edge of town – totally visible from town centre which is 5 minutes walk away’. But as this wiki is more specific about hitchhiking, maybe I should write them here?

And I’ve also written a couple articles about general hitching info.

You can copy your contributions to Wikitravel anywhere if there have been no changes (apart from spelling correction). That includes copying them here. Regarding contributions by other people to Wikitravel, they can't be copied word-by-word but it's easy to write down the same information with different wording.

The best way to continue is probably to create a user page here, and copy your work over here - either directly in the appropriate article or simply on one page so that other Hitchwiki users can spread it over the wiki.

Information about small towns can be okay, especially if you have some more knowledge, e.g. about free wireless internet or so. However, we do have article about roads (mostly highways so far), and you could start them about routes in Turkey. guaka 13:09, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
