I found it very easy to hitch in Mauritania. Coming from Senegal, I found a car from Saint-Louis to Nuakchott. Bordercrossing at Rosso was easy but time demanding - 4 hours. In Nuakchott I took a taxi to the city border police post, really in the middle of nowhere but had to wait only 10 minutes to find a car to the Moroccan border.
