:@platschi: just make your bar a hitchhikers bar :) put a sign behind the counter that welcomes hitchhikers or something like that. the word might spread, as Enschede seems to have a lot of hitchhikers (not only the AEGEE guys, I also met some other professional hitchers from there last year). --MrTweek 09:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

:: Some time back we made some HospitalityClub patches for backpacks (hcpatch_edition1.jpg; hcpatch_edition2.jpg, hcpatch_edition2_all.jpg). One of them is around Eur 1,20 - 1,50 (when you make 300), when enough people join and take 50, then is the risk lower for producing and distributing... The bar could put a sticker somewhere and people could use patches on their bags... And on Talk:Traces we talk already about how to get a good motive... --Alex 10:11, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey, amazing idea. I don't know how to define hitchhikers bar, but there's a bar in Enschede where - from Monday till Friday - (if not traveling), the author of this piece of text is hanging around most of the time. So, in fact, it's a hitchhikers bar, it's just a question on how to recognize the hitcher (in this case, me) there ;) Any ideas/brainstorms on this? Platschi 20:34, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

This is so brilliant! There are many travelers bars around Europe where people come to look for work or just to meet fellow real travelers. This specifically applies to the Journeymen for example. I think we can designate some of these bars also as hitchhiking-meet-up spaces. In addition, I think there will be tons of smaller bars around the world (especially in small towns) that would be happy to host hitchhikers or help them out, like the one Lena found. I guess we just have to create those. We could also set up an event to do just right that ;) Robino 00:09, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
