If you start in KashgarFrom Kahgar, Bus number 2 heading north will take you abit out of the earliest (around 6am local time) shared taxi city on the right road. Catch a car or truck, get to Wuqiathe intersection of road 309. The taxis depart outside Kashgar's international bus station There are many small villages on the way, after some 40 km you will reach the intersection of Irkeshtam and charge around 25Y per personTourgart pass. After 2 hours Make it to Ugomchat, !!IMPORTANT!! The imigration office has moved from the border to Ugomchat, you will be half ways need to get your EXIT stamp there. However the borderImigration is a bit hidden, about 3 km from the town. A local car might just hitchhike on pass it, and you will arrive 7 hours later at the main road straight border told that you have to go back! (yes really) You can easily catch a truck from imigration aswell, guards will help you. 5- try your luck with 8 hours truck drive to the huge whiteborder. Border closed weekends. Closes early, at 6 -container trucks6:30 Beijing time. At border chinese side there is some kind of accomodation, and make sure your head towards Irkeshtam and not Torugrat! but also possibility to find abandoned room where you can sleep. border opens 11 beijing time. Guards will get you on a truck across to Kyrgyz side.
