This is my first comment on this website, so I am not sure this is the right place for it.

'''I Hitch-hiked from Siem Reap to Sisaphon''' (junction for the road going to Poipet/Thailand and Battambang).

'''From Siem Reap, the road to Poipet/Thailand and Battambang is the road to the airport''', and there are plenty of luxury hotels along the way.

It means that most of the vehicles on this road are going to a hotel or to the airport. I got a ride by a taxi driver, but telling him (before get into the car) that I didn't want to pay. He agree to give me a ride for free, and dropped me off in Sisaphon, because he was going to Poipet/Thailand. His wife tought that I was really poor because I was hitch-hiking and wanted to give me money for the rest of the way...

'''I also hiked from Kep (South West), to the vietnamese boarder (Ha Tien border crossing).''' For only 40 kilometers, I needed a ride for 2 cars (that was easy), and also 2 motorbikes gave me a ride when I was walking without asking anything. Then, from the Vietnamese boarder to Ha Tien, the first city, I walked for 1 kilometer before get a ride from a motorbike driver for 1 USD (after 5 minutes bargaining).

'''Tip for vietnamese boarder''': Exit Cambodia was hassle free. For the vietnamese side, when you enter the building, on your right, there is a guy with a unniform asking you to fill in a paper and wants to take your temperature. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT! There is a X-Ray machine who doesn't work, and right behind is the desk where the guy will stamp your passport, so just ignore the first guy and go directly to the desk to get a stamp. Welcome to Vietnam.

'''General impression about hitch-hiking in Cambodia:''' it seems that most people do not know what hitch hiking is, so many people came to talk to me when  I was along the road just because they were wondering what I was doing.

A written sign can be a good idea to let drivers know that you want to go further the airport, just to avoid to have cars/tuk-tuk/motorbike stopping every minute for nothing.

Hitchiking Out

West towards Poipet/Thailand, Battambang.

After about 100 km at a city called Sisophon, there is a junction for the roads going to Poipet, border with Thailand, and Battambang (it's 80 kms more to Battambang).

From Siem Reap, the road to Poipet/Thailand and Battambang is the road to the airport' (13 kms away for Siem Reap), and there are plenty of luxury hotels along the way for several kilometers. It means that most of the vehicles on this road are going either to a hotel or to the airport. However hitchhiking is easy because there are enough cars going to the border of Thailand. A written sign can be a good idea to let drivers know that you want to go further the airport, just to avoid to have cars/tuk-tuk/motorbike stopping every minute for nothing.
