Sault Ste. Marie is a major town along the Transcanadian Highway in Ontario, Canada. It is located between the Lake Huron and Lake Superior and is incontrovertible stop when travelling East-West within Canada.

Sault Ste. Marie is also a border crossing to Michigan to its twin sister town also called Sault Ste. Marie.

A stop overnight in Sault Ste. Marie is usually needed as the journey to the next western town of Thunder Bay takes a whole day.
