Also rideshares are very popular so many cars are actually full.

Hitching Out

South towards Berlin

Take bus number 23 from the central station in Rostock. Go out at exit Brinckmansdorf. After 20 meters there is a Total service station. Behind it you find a traffic light directly in front of the ramp Rostock Süd to the A19 direction Berlin or A20 towards Hamburg. There seems to be enough space for cars to stop. This is a terrible place and there is NOWHERE for a car to stop. We tired here for 2 hours and nothing. Also rideshares are very popular so many cars are actually full. <map lat='54.08215250696088' lng='12.159461975097656' zoom='12' view='0' width=280 float='right'/>

West towards Hamburg

If going to Hamburg, one may use a sign reading HH, otherwise most of the people who will stop are going to Berlin. Politely decline offers to take you to the A20 junction, as that is motorway and one is not permitted to walk on it.
