Template:Puerto Natales is a city in Chile.

Hitching out

To go to Punta Arenas, take the right hand turnoff at the big statue of the giant sloth. To go to Torres del Paine and Cerro Castillo, take the other side. Rides are easier to Punta Arenas, but they are almost as easy to Torres del Paine.

Hitching in

Puerto Natales is rather remote, but there are three ways to access the city:

    By Land
    1) From Punta Arenas
    2) From Argentina, vía Rio Gallegos
    By Sea
    1) Vía the Navimag Ferry from Puerto Montt (this ferry is not free!)

Accommodation and Sleep

Puerto Natales is generally more expensive than other places in the region due to the large numbers on tourists who go there every year. Best places to squat / camp:

    * At the port, where they leave semi truck trailers for long periods which afford some shelter from wind / rain / snow
    * Any place around the outskirts are OK to pitch a tent

Other useful info

To get to the nearby Torres del Paine, you must remember you will have to pay CLP $ 15.000 to get in during the high season and CLP $ 5.000 in the low season.
