Potsdam is the capital of the German Bundesland Brandenburg. It is located directly next to Berlin.

In Potsdam you can find the first official hitchhiking spot in Germany. It is located near the main train station, on the road of the B2 which leads you to the service station Michendorf.

To find some good information hitchhing out of Potsdam, you might have a look to the Berlin article.
