You can also pass by the city if your driver is only going to Panevėžys. Just follow the main road always straight for about 5km. The road north out of the city is quite good to hitchhike - cars are not going to too fast and there are many convenient places to stop.

Take buses Nr.1, 3, 13, 14 towards Kniaudiškių st and get out at the last stop close to a big supermarket "Babilonas". Then cross the street called Klaipėdos. Take bus Nr.16 and go till get out in the last bus stop "Prekybos bazė", cross the street and walk out the city. However,  If you are going to Vilnius you can easily should have a cardboard sign telling that. Another way is to get a lift till any ride from the same place as you would go to Kaunas, and leave after ~5km near the [http://www.maps.lt/map/query.aspx?action=showobject&objID=simple%24xe41f7f306230283d junction with the bypass] where the highway motorway starts and it try your luck there. There is a great place for catching a more traffic as well as cars are going faster. === To [[Klaipėda]] === There are two ways to get to Klaipėda from Panevėžys: going through Šiauliai or going towards Kaunas and getting out by the turn http://goo.gl/maps/KpsF to highway Kaunas-Klaipėda(E85,A1) and getting another ride .It's up to you to Vilnius, choose. I prefer going towards Kaunas and other towns tooswitching the ride. This route is only 33km (20.5 miles) longer, but you will have to change rides less often as most people in the motorway are heading towards Klaipėda.  == Trashwiki & Nomadwiki ==

Also you can walk till the very end of [[nomad:Panevėžys where the roads starts to look new. Follow the road south until there is a sign marking the end of the city.
