UPDATE: This sadly isn't the case anymore. A new highway has been built: no more traffic light and seemingly only locals at the McDonald's, since it is not connected to the flow of long-distance traffic anymore. Anyone know of an alternative? Morsch, August 2018.

Ostróda is a small town in north-east Poland about 100km south of Gdańsk on the way to Warsaw.

It is worth mentioning, because there is a BP service station with a McDrive directly at the national road 7 (E77). Due to probably being the only McDrive within the next 100 km, there is usually a lot of traffic in all directions. Possible to catch direct lifts to Warsaw, watch for the number plates starting with W. Probably easy to get a lift to Olsztyn as well.

UPDATE: This sadly isn't the case anymore. A new highway has been built: no more traffic light and seemingly only locals at the McDonald's, since it is not connected to the flow of long-distance traffic anymore. Anyone know of an alternative? Morsch, August 2018.
