:abstorz was able to hitch a ride onto the motorway behind the tunnel in the area of Etterstad, but it can't be bad to get even further out of the city. Once on the motorway everything went fine.
South towards Göteborg 6 and east towards Stockholm 18
If you want to go south-east on the E6 take metro line 3 to "Mortensrud" and get off at the last station, then cross the bridge over metro track and walk for about 300 meters. You will enter petrol station on motorway E6. Ask drivers there. Very good spot! Also the trash is worth checking for a pre-hitch feed.
Peregrine had luck finding a ride going all the way to the Swedish border within 20 minutes from the motorway on-ramp next to the petrol station near Mortensrud. However, the women driving the vehicle cautioned that they have seen many people standing there trying to get rides unsuccessfully and that it is quite dangerous with such a short on ramp so close to the 80 km/h interstate - that Peregrine should notify the source of their information that there is a much safer bus stop to hitch from just down the road. Looking more carefully you will find that going south on E6 away from this petrol station, maybe 300 meters, there is in fact a bus stop that may be a better idea...however with the speed of the traffic, maybe only during rush hour...
You can also take the regional train going "Ski" and get off at "Nordstrand" station, one stop after Oslo-S. Once at Nordstrand, turn left and go down the little hill. The large road with a lot of traffic is the E18. You can walk about 5-10 minutes in the direction of Oslo (turning right) to the Ulvøya Island crossroad. There is a bus stop right after a traffic light and you can get picked up quite easily. Have a sign and avoid anyone going in to make sure you get on to the direction of Stockholmright road.
Alternatively you may want to try Esso petrol station (diesel is cheaper there so lots of people fills up there and other advantage is there is a MC D. right next to it). To get there, take subway to Hellerud, turn right into Smalvollveien and walk till you get to Esso. Some might find useful to know that there seem to be fewer ticket controls on that line.
