Nunavut

Nunavut is the newest Canadian territory as from the year 1998. The population of the 'Great North' (mostly Innus) is sparsed over a large territory and the road network is limited to the various settlements. The native population speaks proper English as well as Innus, in some area, French might also be possible.

The capital city, Iqaluit, is only accessible through air and sea as it is located on the Baffin Island in the above Polar Circle. Some settlements located in the mainland bordering the Northwest Territories might be accessible through some dusty lumberjack country road, although the traffic will nearly be absent. Nonetheless to say that Nunavut is a remoted territory and hardly accessible and would only be open for those having the means or the purpose to pay for the transport (for that meaning, it is nearly unaccessible even to 'southern' canadian.

Therefore, hitch-hiking in Nunavut might only reveal being a local experience or only possible through air traffic or snow traffic (sledge and snowmobile car).
