Modane is a city in France.

Hitchhiking out

North/South/West/East towards Lyon, Paris

As you get out of the train station turn right and walk straight for at least 15 minutes until you arrive at this roundabout; do not go towards the highway because the cops are definitely going to stop you, instead go towards the route nationale where you can walk and choose which part you want to stop and hitch. --I found that walking left from the station was the best bet, I walked until near the end of the town, where there is a small cinema. This is a good spot to hitch from for Chambery.
