The best option in direction North or East is to get to Rasthof Pfefferhöhe near Alsfeld. If you have a "Semesterticket", you might want to consider taking the train/bus to Alsfeld, although it should be possible to get to the gas-station hitchhiking along the B62 within one hour. It is also possible to use the spot to get in direction South, but in case you have a "Semesterticket" it should be much faster to take a train to Bickenbach
