Get to LRT Balintawak Station. There, you will see the interchange with NLEX (North Luzon Expressway). Walk down that road and if you can go unnoticed by the police, you can start hitchhiking right after the first junction. There is no pavement or a wide safety lane, so be careful. If you can stop your first car fast here, the rest will be easy. You can ask the drivers to drop you off at a gas station on the highway unless they are going all the way to your destination and with this method, you can easily get to Baguio. Using a sign may actually work better. The lack of jeepneys and tricycles on the highway will make hitchhiking very easy and fun.

North towards Angeles, Baguio

Get to LRT Balintawak Station. There, you will see the interchange with NLEX (North Luzon Expressway). Walk down that road and if you can go unnoticed by the police, you can start hitchhiking right after the first junction. The traffic is usually dense and fast; there is no pavement or a wide safety lane, so be careful.

Sleep

The local tourist area is malate. Get to remedio circle (close to MRT/LRT stop pedro gil). There you have lots of hostels. A very cheap quiet and clean one is the following: At remedios circle ask for malate pension (well known, very nice but not so cheap (around 8$)). Right at the pension there is a small back street - right before the pension if you come from remedio c. Take this street and 30m on the right side there are two small nice pensions for 5$.
