Find a suitable place to stand along Steinfurter Straße (B54). This is the road leading out of town to the north-west. There is a petrol station on the road, but a better option seems to be simply walking along the road itself with a sign saying "NL", and seeing what happens.

Get a ride at least as far as Steinfurt - there's a good petrol station there where you can find rides to take you the rest of the way.
