Louvain-la-Neuve is a town build around the Université Catholique de Louvain. There are around 15.000 peoples who lives there and around 20.000 who studies. The city-center is only made for pedestrians. If you stay during the week (exept during the holidays) you will discover the incredible student-parties. One beer cost around 0.80€ in the "cercles" (students pubs).

Hitchhiking out

There are a lot of possible destinations from Louvain-la-Neuve (e.g. : Brussel, Namur and Luxembourg by E411 motorway, Mons, Paris via Nivelle by RN25 motorway). There are two main hitchhike spot in LLN: the first is on the beginning of the RN25 and the second, on the "Esplanade"-cross-point, to go on the E411 motorway.

To go south towards Luxembourg and Namur, please stand behind the signposts at the "Esplanade"-cross-point and try to attract cars passing in the TWO car lanes beside you. Up the road, there is a big petrol station (around 20 KM). This is the last one on the road before the city of Namur.

Sleeping

It's also possible to sleep in a hostel. There is a inn near the city-center which is called "Le relais". For ones who have much more money there is another hotel: the "hotel mercure".
