There are a lot of possible destinations from Louvain-la-Neuve (eabout 11.g000 inhabitants and 20. : Brussel, Namur and Luxemburg by E411 highway, Mons, Paris via Nivelle by RN25 highway)000 students. There are two main hitchhike spot in LLN : the first The tiny city-center is on all pedestrian. If you stay during the beginning of week (exept during the RN25 and summer holidays) you might take part to the second is one of the best spot i ever saw, on incredible student-parties all night long. One beer cost around 0.80€ in the "Esplanadecercles"-cross-point, to go on the E411 highway(students pubs).
