Khorug is a major city in the Gorno-Badakhshan region of Tajikistan.

There is a Chinese-Tajik cargo terminal 25 km out of town in the direction of Murgab. It is best to ask truck drivers while they load their trucks, as they won't stop to pick hitchhikers up on the road.
