Emden is a small city in East Fresia, Germany. German, Low German, and Dutch are the most commonly spoken languages. 3rd busiest seaport in Germany.

A lot of traffic goes into East Fresia without going to Emden first and a lot of traffic goes to Netherlands without taking the turn to Emden. There are no known good hitch hiking points between Oldenburg and Leer so don't get stuck there. Getting to Aurich to hitch hike down Emder Str. is a decent option.
