Eisenach is a city in Germany known for the Wartburg, a castle important for German history. The city is situated along the A4 motorway, and there is a service area with the same name close by. The service area is accessible from both directions which makes it a very possible spot to get a ride in any direction - Zenit needed about 20 minutes to talk a driver into taking him. As of August 17, 2010, there's roadworks on the A4 around Eisenach which can make things a bit more complicated.

the situation around eisenach has changed a lot during the years 2009 and 2011. a new bypass for the A 4 / E 40 has been built. the old A4 is now the new B 7 / B 19 / B 88 but not leading back to the autobahn A 4 in eastern direction anymore. some stretches have completely been dismantled. older maps might not be showing the present situation correctly.
