You'll have to walk quite a bit, here. Follow the directions out of the city (if you happen to be on the west side of the city, it costs about 30 euro cents to get the bus into the centre..Jass found after 3 hours in the severe heat, that no cars seemed to be going south when coming from the west..somehow..). You'll eventually get to a roundabout with signposts for the E87 and Vama Veche. Here you can hitch to the border. Best just to have a sign for Bulgaria rather than Varna if this is your direction as it's still quite a way.

Be careful at the border. Jass got there at 7pm and in two hours, to nightfall, there were 3 cars that passed. Picking up his bag and walking to find a place to camp, the fourth passed and then stopped. Weeheee!

Take bus No. 5 from the city center. The bus driver can tell you which is his closest stop to the centura, the ring road around the city. From there, walk some kilometers south until you come to a big roundabout. Hitchhike there (or before, if you get tired). Have a sign saying Vama Veche. Be careful at the border, there might not be a lot of traffic.

To get to Bulevardul I. C. Bătianu you need to take a bus No. 48. If you have a trouble finding a bus take No.40 anywhere from the city center and then change to No. 48 in the station "Revoluției". Stay in the bus until the last stop. Hitchhiking spot is right at the bus station. Better to have a sign with you though, there are quite many cars going to the villages nearby.
