Here is a discussion about keeping hitchhiking statistics. Further, Prino has a computer program to record the trips and keep easily track and statistics of them. The program can be downloaded from the files section of the Hitching group on Yahoo!. (I am sure, when some people ask him nicely, he adds a hitchwiki output to the program which can be copy&past to here...)
