South towards Granada

Walk to Puente de San Rafael (San Rafael Bridge) and then to Plaza de Andalucia. From there, walk down Ave de Granada which turns into Castro del Rio. Passing a plane (!) on your right, you will see a traffic circle and signs that divide the road towards Madrid, Granada to the left and Malaga to the right. Many cars on this road are also going to Sevilla.

For Malaga or Sevilla you can just wait on the side of the road, right before traffic lights, next to a kind of bus station.

For Granada, you can stop cars after the junction for Granada and Malaga, or you can walk down less than 500 meters to the onramp for Madrid and wait for vehicles going on the N-432 towards Granada.

At the same location as the entrance to the Autovia for Granada, there is a thin strip of emergency lane - maybe a meter - between the guardrail and the fog line where it's possible for cars to stop if the traffic isn't too great.
