The British Indian Ocean Territory is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom (UK) situated in the Indian Ocean. The territory comprises the six atolls of the Chagos Archipelago with over 1,000 individual islands.
The largest island is a site of a joint military facility of the UK and USA. Only people living there are soldiers or civiliants working for the army.
