On the east side of town, the intersection between the Trans Canada, Highway 17/11 and Balsam st. is a good spot. Set of lights, nice pull off, great view.
== West to [[Kenora]] and [[Winnipeg]] along the H-highway #102 and #17 ==there are two ways to hitch out of Thunder Bay. The first is to take the #17 highway westward from close to the Confederation College. The other is to take Dawson Road northwest from close to the County Fair Mall, which meets up with the 17 main highway within half an hour. Both are major routes for into and out of Thunder Bay. I am not sure which is easier, but I'll say that taking the #17 at first was very difficult and only one person stopped in 6 hours.
