You can use as much html as the wiki allows, the only thing you really need wiki make-up for are links. If you look at [[User:Prino|my pages]] you'll see that much of it is pure html. For reasons that I don't want to discuss here, the link to my log pages is hidden in the "See details on his log of hitching trips or a map." sentence. Click on the space between "log" and "of".
