If you are going further than Stirling, don't write Stirling on your sign. Hitching north from Stirling to Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen etc. is very difficult.
Edit from Lowa: If you're going to Perth, Dundee or Aberdeen, don't hitchhike from Stepps, I waited 3h in 3 different spots between stepps and stirling before getting real lift (i mean more than 5miles. Ive been hitchhiking for 7years, I'm a girl,and that's the worst spot ever! You should hitchhike directly from Glasgow, it should work way better. One of my friend had the same story as me in Stepps few weeks before
