European route E 67 is a highway running from Prague in the Czech Republic to Helsinki in Finland by way of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
From Bialystok in Poland until Tallinn in Estonia the highway is known as the Via Baltica. All truck traffic between the Baltic countries and the rest of the European Union goes along this road, which makes for easy hitchhiking for most of the year. However, in the winter when there has been heavy snowfall, there is often not enough room along the side of the road to stop a truck, so for long-distance rides one can ask truck drivers at petrol stations or border crossings.
