To reach '[http://tank.rast.de/standorte/suche/detail.html?ID=254 Rastanlage Michendorf' ] on 'Berliner Ring' (E 30/ A 10) via A 115, take Suburban Train S7 to 'Nikolassee' Station (four stops), leave the DB station in the direction of 'Wannsee', walk along 'Borussen Straße' and 'Spanische Alee' (only two minutes) to the petrol station as well as rest-area 'Spanische Allee'. From there it should be very-very easy to reach 'Berliner Ring' and 'Rastanlage Michendorf'. Build a cardboard sign with 'Ring', 'Michendorf' or even your final destination on it. If you plan to go eastward into Poland or westward to 'Ruhrgebiet', go to 'Michendorf' first. The lift 'Spanische Allee' - 'Michendorf' should not take longer than ten minutes.
If you want to travel to Hamburg, Copenhagen or Rostock from Potsdam: Take the suburban train (S-Bahn) to the stop 'Prenzlauer Promenade' in Berlin-Pankow (north of 'Mitte'). From the traffic light close to the Autobahn on-ramp it normally only takes minutes until you can find a driver. A 114 leads close after Berlin on 'Berliner Ring' (A 10) which leads after ten minutes to the Autobahn Berlin-Hamburg.
