Local hitchhiking on the countryside of Luxembourg is somewhat less straightforward as hitchhiking is not so common by local inhabitants.
Tickets for local transport across the country, both trains and buses are only €1.50 for two hours, with unlimited transfers, or €4 for one day. This includes some buses going abroad (e.g. to [[Bastogne]]). The cheap public transport and the low chances of locals stopping for you makes it best to simply take a bus towards one of the gas stations on the highway when going further away out of the country.
