St. Margrethen is a small town on the swiss Swiss side of the Swiss-Austrian border.
==== Border crossing====
Coming from [[St. Gallen]] the border crossing in St. Margrethen constitutes a good spot for hitching further on. If you don't happen to get dropped off here by your driver just make your way there on foot. Just walk across to the Austrian side and hold out your sign to wherever you wanna go. There's enough space for cars to stop, quite a considerable lot of traffic and due to the border being a non-EU one cars have to slow down anyway.
