:Hey alex, thanks for picking up some info! I'm starting on the 27th, going via Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, towards BG. For what I know is that Serbians celebrate christmas on 7 January, but Croatians and Bulgarians on 25/26th. Confusing! :) So maybe crossing Serbia might not be a problem. We'll see. ::Sorry, I do not have any information about the trucks as I had none with a truck. However, hitching was fairly simple as everybody was in Christmas mood. Weather was fine (except for Turkey where it was raining when I wanted to start) and the streets free, however, the week earlier there was a snow chaos and for the next days they report some snow in Eastern Austria... so check the news, plan short and organise accommodation in a couple of cities (e.g. Wien and Belgrade).
