Puno

Puno is a city in Peru at the lake of Titicaca at very high altitude. One can hitchhike from here to Tacna, Cuzco and to Copacabana in Bolivia.

Hitchhiking out

North towards Juliaca, Sillustani, Arequipa

Take micro n°60, n°20 or n°1 until Yanomayo. There, right after the petrol station, the road forks: left direction goes to Arequipa (direction Manazo). This is a shortcut to Arequipa, but way less trafficked than the road that goes to Juliaca. The right direction goes to Sillustani and Juliaca.
