Hitchwiki:Project cleanup

The idea

With the winter aproaching, and some people spending less time on the road, they may have some time for a bit of a hitchwiki cleanup. So if you want to spent a night (or week) fixing pages or categorising pages, here's what you can do:

Invalid templates

• As of 03-10-2024 there are 54 templates in Special:Wantedtemplates

Many of these are due to people putting the city name between brackets like: {{BigThumbCity}},thus creating a wanted template, and displaying it on the website as Template:BigThumbCity

1. Go to Special:WantedTemplates
2. Click the blue (1 Link) behind an invalid template the see where it is used.
3. Change the invalid template on that page. Use {{FULLPAGENAMEE}} for the name of article.

Uncategorised pages

• As of 03-10-2024 there are 711 pages in Special:UncategorizedPages

Many of these are empty pages with just a city name.

1. Add the {{Category|state}} tag or <{{Category|country}} tag.
2. Add the {{IsIn|state}} template or {{IsIn|country}} template. Check Template:IsIn to read how to use the IsIn template.
3. Add some basic information. "[CityX] is a city in [countryY]". Or some more..
4. If the page needs more info add the {{stub}}template.

Other tasks??

• A bit generic: many of the links from Special:SpecialPages could be considered tasks
• Add them here

Problematic pages

• Hitchwiki:Wikipedia_article
  • Contains some wiki-programming intented for wikipedia and/or German language programming.
• Recogiendo autoestopistas
  • Page in Spanish. Needs to be moved to the Spanish Hitchwiki. Or maybe it's already on there? In that case it can be removed here. Or needs to be translated to English and keep it here?

• Hopkins
  • Unclear wich Hopkins this is about.
• Johnson City
  • Unclear wich Johnson CIty it's about.
• Lapland - Sami land and Lapland or Sami Land are duplicate pages. Could really use a re-write, formatting and the links put in. Also nothing links to it, wich is a shame because there's so much info.
