HitchTrekking

apparently the meaning of a hike, is a walk not longer than a day, and trekking is a walk that can extend over several days.

I realize that in my 20ies, I was mostly hitch-trekking, sometimes over several days and nights non-stop.

Would it be useful to distinguish hitch trekking? And develop a description of different forms of hitch trekking?
