    I have never hitchhiked, but this is my dream since my childhood! I don’t have targets or expectations, I just want to see the world! Are you familiar? I live in Ukraine, Transcarpathia and my nationality is Hungarian, but I think it is doesn’t matter! I haven’t found a fellow for my travel plans, I hope that, I will find here, maybe. I dont have so much money for this, just 100 euro, but I think it doesn’t matter too, because all my hope is in the people’s goodwill! Who inspirate me so much is Christopher McCandless! Anyway, I am 20 years old male!

    Mostly I want hitchhike around Europe, Turkey may be considered, if I’ll see Europe before or after it.

    I am not male, but I am quite experienced (and let’s be honest, its easier to hitchhike when u have a girl by your side;)) and I am planning to hitchhike from Denmark to Turkey in a few weeks… When are u planning on going? Maybe we can meet up somewhere.. :) Peace

    I think maybe at the end of the july, cause I am waiting for my passport! Yeah we can meet somewhere, maybe here , if you want to visit Hungary or Transcarpathia! Im glad to see anybody in my home! But honestly I want to see Eu countries, and doesn’t enough for me just Turkey, I need a fellow for my whole travel! Let me ask some question from you? You are expirienced. Doesn’t dangerous hitchhiking for a female? cause my girlfriend so want come with me to my journey. Peace :)

    Oh okay, then maybe I’ll already be in Turkey.. But we can keep in touch.. I hitchhiked a lot in Denmark,, Germany, Spain, Greece and Turkey too. Also alone. If you are two it is not a problem. Just be aware :)

    @SzittyaG Where in Ukraine are you located? We are doing a short non-stop trip along Western Ukraine next week (from Holland to Moldova), via L’viv – Ternopil’ and Chernivtsi. If you’re somewhere along the way, we could drop by for a cup of tea :)

    Oh, and regarding your questions about safety: Hitchhiking as a mixed couple is totally safe in the EU, as hitchhiking is in general as long as you keep some standard safety measures with you (trust your gut, fasten seat belts, get out if you have drivers that cannot drive normally,etc…, see also the tips on hitchwiki).

    Regarding Turkey, actually I personally had some bad experiences traveling there together with a woman, as drivers continuously harrassed her to have intercourse. That was pretty obnoxious… on the other hand, me travelling alone through Turkey was totally fine.

    On the other hand, this again depends on your language and talking skills, and also there are plenty of woman I know who travel alone through the Middle East and Turkey and who do this pretty succesfully.
