Wrocław is a city in Poland.

Hitching out

West directions (A4, Berlin, Dresden)

Take the free Auchan bus from the main bus station (Dworzec PKS). Get off at the last stop and you will see a petrol station from there. Just go directly towards it without crossing any streets (only these belonging to Auchan's car park). On the petrol station you can ask people for a hike or try to hitch someone going out from Wrocław by an exit road next to the station (the same situation as going towards Kraków, you're just on the other side of the highway). You can also take free Tesco bus from Dworzec PKS to shopping center Bielany. Get off at the last stop, go right along the Tesco (way back) to Czekoladowa street, then turn left (along the Tesco), then cross the street, go under the bridge (highway), turn right and go along the highway across the field, you'll get to the petrol station and you will be in the same place as in the Tesco bus option. Good luck!

Or take tram 17 to Klecina (20min from mainstation). Get out at the final stop, walk back some meters and turn right to ul.Skrajna. After 150m turn left and after 50m right again into ul. Jezdziecka. After 200m you will reach a mainstreet that goes directly to the highway A4. There is a big BP-gasstation, the last one before the highway, where you can ask people.

East directions (A4, Kraków)

Take the free Tesco bus from main Bus station (Dworzec PKS) to shopping center Bielany. get off at the last stop, go right along the Tesco (way back) to Czekoladowa street, then turn left (along the tesco), then turn right to cross the street and go straight along the highway across the field (don't go under the bridge) and one small entrance to the highway, you'll get to the petrol station where you can ask people for a hike or try to hitch someone going out from Wrocław by an exit road next to the station (the same situation as going towards Germany, you're just on the other side of the highway). Good luck!

South directions (E67, Prague)

Take the free Tesco bus from main Bus station (Dworzec PKS) to shopping center Bielany. Walk away from the shopping centre to the busy road, here you'll see signs for the E67 and Kudowa, follow the signs and you'll cross the motorway where you'll see the petrol stations mentioned above and below. Continue on and you will reach the beginning of the E67, theres a bus stop with a big shelter and plenty of space behind and in front of it. This walk should have taken no more than 15 minutes. There's no better spots worth walking to down the road and will notice the traffic has to stop at the traffic lights around 50 metres in front of you. In line with most hitching in Poland its quite likely you'll pick up a number of short rides but once at the border its easy to get a ride to Prague.

North-east directions (E67, Warsaw)

Take the bus "604" to the end of route. From there you have to only cross the tracks on the left and you will be on very long straight road with very wide shoulder of road :). Another option to go there is take the bus "D", and go to the end of route and from there you have to across a few building and go to the road (more less 800m). You will be in the same place from first option but on the second side of road ;). It's very good place, a lot of times I catch the ride from there directly to Warsaw :). If you go to Warsaw use the sign "Warszawa". Good luck.

North directions (E261, Poznań, Bydgoszcz)

Take one of the trams: "1", "7", "15" - direction "MARINO", and go to the end of the route. Then go to the other side of Żmigrodzka Street and start hiking at the bus stop. You will be well seen by the drivers who stop at traffic lights. You can also take the bus "129" - direction "OŚRODEK REHABILITACJI", get off at the stop "MARINO" and start hiking :)

Internet Access

One of the tourist information centers on the Rynek - one that is also a coffee shop - has two computers with free internet access for tourists. Only internet/email - no VOIP, etc. - and only 20 minutes per person. It's on the inside of the square, facing south, right next to the church and behind a statue.
