Revision as of 01:37, 16 November 2006

Early November I finally registered for this wiki, I made some new entries for cities such as Valencia and Granada. I hope they are usefull.

My experience with hitchhiking

I have hitchhiking experience in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, France, Czech Republic and Spain. I am planning to do a hitchhiking trip from Amsterdam to Istanbul winter 2007.

Currently I live in Spain, Barcelona. I also have a CouchSurfing profile.

My philosophy on hitchhiking

Hitchhiking is a sport. For me it is not about cheap travelling, but about meeting random people of whome some never turn out to be so random at all.

I believe also in ´hitchhiking karma´. I generally sense which cars stop for me, and which persons to talk to when waiting for a ride. But more important, you always end up getting those rides which are mend for you.

Me hitching from Valencia to Granada

My longest waiting time never exceeded over an hour.

I strongly believe in a hitchhiker with an active attitude, walking up to people and talking to them to ask them for a ride. Whether you are waiting at a service station, restarea or simply at a roundabout or traffic lights where cars stop.

I highly recommend to at least speak some hitchhiking sentences in the language of the country where travelling.
