Taos is a city in New Mexico. It is a major hitchhiking mecca, perhaps the most popular place to meet fellow hitchhikers outside of highway US101 in California. You will see travelers here year round.

Hitching out

The stoplight north of town at the intersection of NM522, US62, and NM150 is a good place to catch a ride any direction.

Hitched from Taos to the Earthship Biotecture and back with absolutely no problem. Maybe waited 5-10min for rides. One of the easiest places in the US. Ozcar August 2017
