The Pacific highway is my favorite hitch in Australia! Get off the train at Waronga, a northern suburb in sydney, follow the train line in the direction you were traveling away from the city, cross the highway on the foot bridge, jump into the grass between the foot path and the train line, climb the small fence next to the train bridge and you are at the start of the freeway going north. If it takes you more than 5 minuits to get a ride you are doing something wrong, go to the hitching tips on this site.

Coffs Harbour is the hitch hiking hell hole of the north coast, do not get out here! Get out or find a ride to Wolgolga or Sawtell which are on ether side of coffs.
