I think it's not a problem --Alex 00:00, 17 May 2008 (CEST)to get a ride from trucks when you are 2 people hitchhiking together, there is place on the bed to sit. I hitchhiked a lot with my girl friend and half of the ride on the highway were from trucks, in France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Baltics states, Hungary....few month of hitchhiking. We were suprised about it because we also thought that truckers will never accept two people. We met few other hitchhikers couple and they said they never get ride from trucks, i think their mistake was to not even try, i mean they didn't make smile, insisting eyes contact, asking on the parkings, to trucks drivers because they thought there is no use cause they won't accecpt two people. The thing is, you must show are special, we must smile and show you are friendly and people will stop, even if you are two. And i don't think they are scared because their colleague can see them, they are just scrared to meet police. But after being hitchhiking trucks and sitting on the bed in the middle, you get good reflex, when you see a uniform you just lie down on the bed and the police don't see you are 3 in the truck. Once we even had a police control in France and the police didn't mind that we were 3, but maybe it was luck this time.

Yeah, sure, I've had rides from truckers when I was hitchhiking with someone else (in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina, Oregon, New Zealand, Australia and China). But still, I think going to a place with merely trucks to find a ride for 2 people is a mistake when there is another option, especially in "civilized" places where truckers aren't allowed to take more than 1 by-passenger. Maybe there is a better way to phrase it in the main article though. :) --guakasite, wikitalk 10:46, 16 May 2008 (CEST)
I think it is no mistake too (there is no maximum)... rather hitchhiking with the wrong people (for example another guy that looks doggy or avoid eye contact...). So all the lifts you would get are turned down when people look to your hitchhiking partner... so you end up sending you partner to the toilet and organize a lift in the meantime... ;) --Alex 23:59, 16 May 2008 (CEST)

falling in love with the driver and missing a turning because of "butterflies"? this needs a story to be told... -Daniel
