Shreveport

Shreveport has free public transport.

Walking on the interstate or asking at gas stations is recommended. Try hitching from on ramps as a last option, although this may seem strange it really will be the better option. This is probably due to many residents having never encountered hitchhikers and are extremely wary.

Police don't seem to care much about hitchhiking or walking on the interstate. Experiences with the cops may vary based on gender, age, race etc.

Onramps within the city will be very bad choices. The buses are good (for an American city), try get as far south as you can. The 103 Sportran is nice, it'll take you south if you're heading that way, nice and close to an onramp.
