San Marino is a microstate entirely within Italy.
Because of its extremely small size and with most of the area being the municipalities of Dogana and the City of San Marino, hardly anyone needs to hitchhike on the roads there: one can cross the whole country by foot within 2 hours. However, San Marino has a nearly nine kilometre long highway which invites hitchhiking, called the San Marino Highway, or Superstrada.
One can hitch to Italy from within San Marino; there is a lot of traffic to Rimini. Hitchhiker Sigurdas got a lift from San Marino to Italy within 15 minutes.
