[[panama city]] going west: the panamericana on the western end of panama lies right next to el chorillo wich is the most dangerous part of the city. it would be advisable to take a bus past el chorillo and then you are almost at la puente de las americas, a meaningful place to hitch.
 
towards colon. from av 12/santa ana park you can catch a bus "transistmica" which leaves the city on the road to colon. after 20km or so you will hit the intersection with the panama city highway. be careful in colon.

Panama is a country in Central America.
