Hitchhiking in the '''West Bank''' is not a great idea, bad things can happen and people are likely to carry guns. Especially not at dark. Anyway it's still quite popular amongst young settlers due to the lack of public transportation even if their was palestinian attacks related to hitchhiking. There have  also been the case of a false palestinian hitchhiker dressed as a religious jewish witch blowed himself in a car where he get a lift. The border crossing procedure can be time consuming.  [[User:Guaka|guaka]] ended up on Israeli territory when it was already dark.  You're not allowed to walk away from the border crossing (which is also a military base) so you are left to the taxi leeches.  They try to charge 30 shekels for a very short ride.

Hitchhiking in the West Bank (Palestinian territories) is a game of chance. Some people, especially Jewish settlers, tend to carry guns. It's popular especially among the settler's youth, although there were cases they were targeted by militants which hitchhiking.

Among the Palestinians, hitchhiking is not common at all - yet that does not mean it's difficult to get rides.
