South to Taichung
At the end of a lift from Taipei, Ollie got dropped off just next to CPC Gas station (CPC 台灣中油(光明站24H)) then walked the very short distance to the entrance road to Highway 1, as displayed on the map below.
Good hitching spot from from Hsinchu to Taichung
He waited here for only 10 minutes before getting a lift straight to Taichung. Exact waiting spot pictured below (with accompanying amazing pic!)
