Deer Lake is a town in western Newfoundland Canada.

Hitchhiking out

North towards Gros Morne

Right at the entrance to the town on the TCH there is the intersection to the 430 viking highway that is the main route through Gros Morne and through to L'ance Aux Meadows. Not a whole lot of room to pull over but you walk a little past the Insectarium

West Towards Corner Brook

Walk to the east edge of town on the highway, cross the bridge and the hydro plant and there ya go! Simple and easy spot.

Places to avoid

Accommodation and Sleep

There are sections of woods inside town you can stealth camp in, but beware of camping on quad trails as they are often used. Use google maps satellite view to check around, it's very unlikely anyone would bother you. Also there is a beach next to the lake that you may be able to camp on find, there looked to be a lot of space. The noise from the hydro plant might be bothersome to some.
