Believe it or not, in the "super dangerous" city of Caracas I was able to catch rides out of town by walking though the street and tapping on windows. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Just chatting up drivers while they're paralized in Caracas' notorious traffic. Make your self a sign. Piece of cake.
